ARTICLE REVIEW

ROOKIE ROCKSTAR

By Geetika Sasan Bhandari (INDIA TODAY, April17, 2006)

Have you ever heard of a person called Himesh Reshammiya? If No, then you must read the article published in India Today, April17, 2006 edition in the name of Rookie Rockstar. This article written by Geetika Sasan Bhandari peeps into the life and transformation of this great music composer to a rockstar.

Himesh Reshammiya a true mom’s child lives with his parents and believes in only his best buddy. But his song like Ashiq Banaya Apne are breaking records and climbed the ladder of the Planet M charts to remain unbeatable for 15weeks.Once termed as a music composer he is now called as a Rockstar. From the very beginning he remained an un-noticed rockstar. From the time of signing a film with Salman Khan at the age of 18, he climbed the ladder of success with sheer hardworking and immense belief in himself. He dedicates his success to the Divine Intervention.

So what’s the USP of his success? I feel that his success came at a time when all the viewers wanted to hear a fresh voice. The author writes about his vocal chords amazingly placed near the nose helped him to emerge as a rockstar. Its true as the people came to hear a new voice with an in built Bass in it. His other USP according to the author lies in his way of dressing. His retrosexual looks including Versace belts, Cavalli T-shirts truly gives an international look which attracts the viewers to him. It’s true that Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in which he was a judge also helped him to be visible to the public at a time when he needed the most. The article written by Geetika Sasan Bhandari is a very balanced one, however she could have included more details into his style of singing. The article is worth reading not only for Himesh Reshammiya fans but also for everyone who wants a sneek peak into the life of this great Rockstar.

INVASION OF EXPRESSION

How can ever the government of the largest democracy of the world can do this....After 07/11 i.e. after the Serial blasts in Mumbai,India when the bloggers like us wrote to the world about the bad disaster management dept of India, the government of India not only blocked the blogs but also blocked the whole of www.blogspot.com creating an invasion to the right of speech......

How can a Government even do this?....when it is the right of every citizen of India to express their thoughts....itz like an invasion to the privacy of a person....when the disaster management system of India is not well then whts the fear of accepting tht.....This is like communism taking over democracy.....The reason that was given by the Govt of India was that since it didn't have the technology to block particular blogs it blocked BLOGSPOt and many other blog sites....What Shit is this?......do u think that there will be any takers for such justification....

Instead of blocking blogs the government should think how to evade from such terrorist attack....there are 10 different teams for tracking the terrorism out-fits in India...but no such team could get a hint of such attacks...because there is no co-ordination among the teams...instead of making 10 different teams, all these teams could be included in just a single team so as to increase the efficiency and the co-ordination......

So please think before you block any sites...because if you can't give a safe place to live in you are also not allowed to take anything from the citizens.....

An open road,
A myriad of colours,
The strummung of a guitar.
Half closed eyes,
A heart full of secret desires,
Hidden-In its deepest recesses.

A clawing feeling inside.
My mind driftsInto a realm unknown.
A vision appears-One I don't understand.
Yet, I smile.
A yearning inside,But I don't know why.
What am I looking for?
Yet I carry on-Searching,
For that one thing
That'll make
My life complete...
